Greetings from Circle Pines

Greetings friends and family of Circle Pines campers. Your children have now enjoyed a full week of peace, social justice, environmental stewardship, and cooperation. Over the next month we will be updating this blog with interviews and general information about the daily occurrences around camp. We think it would be fun for everyone to let people know what is going on at camp from week to week. For our first post, we have an interview with an Acorn camper and a Youthie counselor.

Emma, Age 8
How many years have you been coming to Circle Pines?
Every year since I was born.

What is your favorite part of Circle Pines?
Feeding and milking the baby goats and chickens. Also, watching Trent mess up things and the Folk Opera.

What is your favorite work project?
Garden, because I can hang out with the animals and grubby things.

What's your favorite activity?
Scavenger Hunt!

Passion for nature is the best way to describe this camp and going to this camp has brought me closer to nature and I've met a lot of fun people.

Austin, 18

The communal atmosphere

How did you find out about Circle Pines?
I found out through my good friend Tess, who is a cook at Circle Pines.

What do you like most about the Youthie unit?
I like testing their responsibilities and capabilities as young men and women.

What is your favorite activity?
Listening to Larry the storyteller's oral tradition.

How do you get your hair so nice and curly?
My hair is naturally curly and I use Pert Plus shampoo every day.

You can't scare me, I'm sticking to the union!

Brought to you by your friendly neighborhood CITs, Trent and Diana, and our counselor, Keith.
